Local Attorney Dale Sweet 

Have you ever bought a property for back taxes? Do you know how the process works? Would you like to know how to buy real estate from the government for pennies on the dollar?

You are in for a treat this month with attorney Dale Sweet! Dale graduated from Saint Louis University School of Law, and his bachelor’s degree is also from Saint Louis University. Before attending law school, Mr. Sweet became interested in the relationship between delinquent real estate taxes and vacant buildings or deteriorated property. While in school, he extensively researched Missouri law in the area of tax sales: the forced sale of real property to recover back taxes. 

Mr. Sweet handles sheriff’s land tax sales in the City of St. Louis, where court confirmation is required. Mr. Sweet also works extensively in Missouri counties, where he dispatches redemption notices and obtains Collector’s Deeds, followed by filing quiet title lawsuits to increase the marketability of title derived from a tax sale. In addition to tax sales, Mr. Sweet enjoys cleaning up title defects and clouds on title caused by the indiscriminate use of downloaded Internet forms and office-supply-store legal documents.
