Ascend STL Inc. works with the large Housing Authorities in the St. Louis region. 

Ascend was founded in 1999 to help finance large housing developments. In 2016, Ascend created the Mobility Connection program in partnership with the St. Louis Housing Authority and the Housing Authority of St. Louis County.

Janie Oliphant will be sharing how The Mobility Connection program helps families with Housing Choice Vouchers move to areas of high opportunity in St. Louis City and County and how you can make rental income through participation in the program.

Motivation for the program came from groundbreaking research that showed that helping families with vouchers move to low-poverty neighborhoods significantly improves college attendance rates and earnings for children who were young (below age 13) when their families moved.
